Some companies treat communication like frosting, added at the end to make the work look polished. But high-performing teams treat it like infrastructure.
When communication is operationalized, it’s not just polished, it’s:
- Embedded in the process
- Timed for decision moments
- Built to scale, reinforce, and adapt
In operations, we know how to build process. We know how to optimize workflows. Communication deserves the same treatment.
Instead of asking, “Who needs to know this?”
Ask:
- What’s the trigger?
- What’s the outcome?
- Who owns the message?
- Where will it live?
- How will we reinforce it?
Because if your team is still relying on heroic communication efforts, you don’t have a comms strategy, you have comms luck.
